Symposium - Drug Discovery
First International Symposium of Paris-Saclay University
Laboratoire de l'Accélérateur Linéaire (LAL), Bâtiment 200, Orsay
April 9-11, 2018
An interdisciplinary Symposium at the interface between chemistry and life sciences will take place in Orsay, April 9-11, 2018. This international event aims at gathering researchers involved in the complementary fields related to the conception and development of new medicines and related therapeutic innovations. The symposium will cover the discovery of new pharmacological targets, synthetic and natural biologically active molecules, their delivery and targeting through smart (nano)formulations as well as their pharmacological and toxicological pre-clinical evaluation. Moreover, cell therapy and tissue reconstruction approaches will be also considered as therapeutic alternatives.
Areas covered by the Symposium will include: i) medicinal chemistry; ii) therapeutic proteins and bioconjugates; iii) chemical biology; iv) drug delivery; v) gene and cell therapy; vi) diagnostic and theranostic; vii) therapeutic targets; viii) pharmacological and toxicological pre-clinical evaluation and ix) tissue reconstruction.
The inaugural lecture will be given by Prof. R. Langer (MIT). Interdisciplinary sessions will be organized and outstanding speakers will include Dr. Alain Beck (Pierre Fabre), Prof. Annette Beck-Sickinger (Leipzig University) and Dr. Martine Clozel (Idorsia Pharmaceuticals) will deliver comprehensive and inspiring talks. Numerous presentations, poster sessions and round tables will enable disseminating the research at the forefront in Paris-Saclay. Best poster and best oral presentation awards will be delivered. Stands will present up-to-date equipment and technologies.
The Symposium, co-organized by Dr. R. Gref (Chemistry department) and Prof. P. Couvreur (Life Sciences department) aims to foster new multidisciplinary collaborations among the researchers of the Paris-Saclay community involved in drug discovery and related therapeutic innovation fields. This international event is open to scientists, industrials, as well as young researchers aspiring to work at the interface between chemistry and life sciences.
We are looking forward to your active participation in this event.
