Synchrotron beamline PROXIMA-2A
PROXIMA 2-A (PX2-A) is a microfocus beamline for biological crystallography at Synchrotron SOLEIL. The beamline is highly automated and designed to help you tackle the most challenging structural targets and biological systems.
PX2-A is rapidly tunable over the energy range 6-17 keV making the most commonly used absorption edges accessible for anomalous diffraction experiments.
The beamline is equipped with a high capacity sample-changing system, high performance micro-diffractometer, KETEK X-ray fluorescence detector, and an EIGER X 9M photon-counting area detector.
Main technical features
- Energy range: 6 18 keV
- Energy Resolution: ~0.0002 (Si 111)
- Source: Two U24 canted undulators (4.5 mrad)
- Optics: cryogenically cooled channel cut crystal monochromator, a convex prefocussing mirror and a KirkpatrickBaez pair of focussing mirrors
- Polarization : Linear
Access conditions
Access to SOLEIL beamlines is open to scientists coming from all over the world. SOLEIL deals with proposals submitted by scientists from academic institutions as well as researchers and engineers from commercial organisations and private companies. Access may be of two kinds:
- Free of charge for users whose results are open for publication (mandatory) and whose proposal has been evaluated by a Peer Review Committee.
- With charge for admission for users requesting rapid access and/or confidentiality without peer review process and keeping the proprietary of their results.
